A Golden Shogun Guard Costume worn in Carl Rinsch's 2013 adaptation of the classic Japanese legend, 47 Ronin. In the film, a band of 47 warriors set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master, Lord Asano (Min Tanaka). Costumes of this style can be seen worn by guards positioned behind Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) during the tournament in Ako.
In keeping with the Shogun's gold color scheme, this costume consists of numerous bright gold and orange pieces including a long pointed eboshi style kabuto helmet, rubber dô body armor,kariginu hunting garment, sode shoulder guards, fabric kote arm guards with decorative chainmail, haidate thigh armor, gold colored kimono, hakama pants, suneate shin guards, and tabi boots. Fastened to the kabuto are leather shikoro neck guards.
This costume features minor wear due to production use (see photos), however it remains in otherwise very good worn condition.
