An Elite Kira Samurai Warrior Costume worn in Carl Rinsch's 2013 adaptation of the classic Japanese legend, 47 Ronin. In the film, a band of 47 warriors set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master, Lord Asano (Min Tanaka). Costumes of this style can be seen worn by a large group of Samurai warriors who arrive with Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) in preparation for a duel in honor of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa).
Worn by Lord Kira's Samurai warrior's, this costume consists of an ornate kabuto helmet, rubber menp? face mask, rubber dô body armor with attached sode shoulder guards, fabric kote arm guards with rubber plating, haidate thigh armor, purple fabric kimono, hakama pants, and tabi boots. Crafted from rubber, the kabuto helmet features a large semi circle maedate with a crest showcasing an octopus. Fastened to the kabuto are leather shikoro neck guards. Worn around the body is a set of dô body armor that is made from dense rubber with a second octopus crest. Attached to the bottom of the dô body armor is kusazuri waist armor. Worn under the dô are fabric kote arm guards that feature rubber armor platting attached to the forearm and hands. Under the body armor, the samurai wears a kimono and hakama pants, both crafted from cotton and silk and dyed in a purple color. Paired with this are a pair of tabi boots that are bound in rope.
This costume features minor wear due to production use (see photos), however it remains in otherwise very good worn condition.
