A scarce lenticular poster for Stanley Kubrick's influential sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). It was rare for lenticulars to be produced in the 1960s when this movie first hit cinemas. MGM and Kubrick wanted to create an advanced advertising campaign that included unique formats, with this lenticular being one of the most impressive pieces created for the film. It was produced exclusively for the limited cinemas with Cinerama widescreen format capability. This 10.25" x 13.5" postcard-like example features the Style A design of the'Space-Wheel' imagery most associated with the film created by artist Robert McCall. The lenticular comes presented in its original white-coloured frame and a card standee backing, allowing it to be readily displayed.
