This item is a stunt Enfield rifle used in the 1964 action film Zulu starring Michael Caine as Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead. These 'all-in-one' styles of non-working versions of the Enfield rifle were used by the background actors for safety on set and to keep costs down. The rifle is made of wood which has been carved to resemble the true rifle including the ‘V.R Enfield 1881’ engraving above the trigger. Due to production use and storage this item displays some light wear with a small chip on the top of the barrel. The lightweight rifle measures 49" (124cm) long. An interesting prop from a truly classic film!
