A baby crib used in the production of James Watkins’ 2012 period horror The Woman in Black.
The film follows young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) as he travels to a remote village terrorised by a vengeful ghost. Kipps finds himself in a race against time to discover the mystery of the spectre woman before she takes all the children of Crythin Gifford.
This crib was made for use by Elizabeth Daily (Janet McTeer) to cradle her two pet dogs. The traumatic loss of Elizabeth’s son has led her to treat her dogs like her actual children, motherly tucking them into bed and rocking them to sleep.
The crib is made up of an ornate metal frame that is painted baby pink and has white lace-like material with embroidered flowers draping over the top. The crib contains a foam-padded mattress with a lace-trimmed comforter. The white fabrics show slight yellowing and the paintwork is a little chipped from age and use. The piece remains in very good production-used condition.
Materials: Man-Made Woven Fibres, Ferrous Metals.
