A painting of the Woman in Black (Liz White) at the beach used in the production of James Watkins’ 2012 horror-drama, The Woman In Black. The film follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) as he travels to a remote village terrorised by a vengeful ghost. Kipps finds himself in a race against time to discover the mystery of the spectre woman before she takes all the children of Crythin Gifford.
This painting was created for the scenes in which Arthur is in his guest room at Samuel Daily’s (Ciarán Hinds) house, however an alternate version appears to have been used in the final cut of the film. The artwork depicts the Woman in Black present during the death of Sam’s son Nicholas (Sidney Johnston). The image is hand-painted with acrylics on canvas and features four boys in white walking out into the sea while the Woman in Black looks on. The canvas is stretched and stapled on to a wooden frame. This piece remains in excellent condition and measures 41cm x 25.5cm x 2cm (16.25” x 10.25” x 1”).

This prop is an original asset used in the production of the 2012 film The Woman In Black. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
