A pocket watch and hair locket used in the production of James Watkins’ 2012 horror-drama, The Woman in Black. The film follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) as he travels to a remote village terrorised by a vengeful ghost. Kipps finds himself in a race against time to discover the mystery of the spectre woman before she takes all the children of Crythin Gifford.
This pocket watch and locket as well as others like them would have been carried by Arthur Kipps through the film. The hair in the locket belonged to his late wife Stella Kipps (Sophie Stuckey) and is a reminder of her. The pocket watch is made of silver plated metal in a traditional plain style. The locket is also made of silver plated metal with a plastic dome encasing a lock of blonde hair. From use in the production, the casing of the watch is broken at the hinge but remains in good condition. Accompanying the watch is a ‘Royal London’ gift box labelled ‘Stand In Watch’, suggesting use by either the character’s stand-in, or when the ‘hero’ watch was not required. The locket remains in excellent production-used condition and the largest item in the collection measures 10cm x 9cm x 5cm (4” x 3.75” x 2”).

These props are original assets used in the production of the 2012 film The Woman In Black. The asset is made available through a partnership between Prop Store and Exclusive Media. This is not a replica, but rather an original piece from the making of the film.
