A matte painting study, showing Willow in the forest, from the production of Ron Howard’s 1988 fantasy adventure Willow.
Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) must protect a special baby from the machinations of the evil Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh), ‘helped’ along the way by Madmartigan (Val Kilmer).
This piece is a medium-weight illustration board with an intricately detailed painting of Willow Ufgood in the forest. It is painted with gouache paints and beneath it are handwritten pencil notes giving details about the scene and camera movements. Labelled 'MP 10', the art was created by ILM matte artist Chris Evans. On the back of the card, secured by tape, are four photographs of Warwick Davis in the forest, presumably the real life sources for this painting.
The piece shows some signs of wear and slight discolouration from age, but remains in very good overall condition.
Materials: Card, Plastic.
