An Eborsisk maquette from Ron Howard’s fantasy film Willow. In the film, Willow (Warwick Davis) cast a spell on a troll that turned it into a grotesque two-headed beast called the Eborsisk. The name is a portmanteau of famous film critics Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel. Phil Tippett sculpted and created the Eborsisk with Randy Dutra from an unused Star Wars monster design sketched by Ralph McQuarrie.Tippett was nominated for Best Visual Effects for his work on this film at the 61st Academy Awards^®.

Tippett brought the Eborsisk to life using go-motion animation, a technique he developed to make the movements of stop-motion creatures look more fluid and realistic.

This maquette Eborsisk head is made of plaster and painted grey with red and yellow accents. It features a large protuberance coming out of the nose, sharp teeth and beady eyes. A mane of fake brown hair is glued down the back of the neck.

The maquette features some wear due to production use and age, including some chips in the plaster, but the lot remains in good condition. Dimensions: 9” x 6 ½” x 7” (23 cm x 16.5 cm x 18 cm)
