Major Tompkins' (Pip Torrens) uniform worn in Stephen Spielberg's critically acclaimed period drama War Horse. These pieces were worn by the Major towards the end of the film as Tompkins informs Albert (Jeremy Irvine) that his horse will be sold at auction.
This stunning costume consists of a khaki cotton shirt with woollen tie and plain brass tie pin, braces, service dress tunic with various insignia patches including a red horseshoe patch on the back, metal Worcestershire collar pins and an interesting rotating stamp with supportive mottos engraved in reverse onto different faces, a pair of khaki drill breeches, khaki wool cap again featuring the Worcestershire emblem and finally a khaki waxed cotton mac. Paired with this uniform is a mac coat which shows significant distressing, however was not worn by Major Tompkins in the final cut of the film. The entire ensemble shows minor wear due to production use and intentional distressing, but remains in fine worn condition.
