A 1918 German Infantry Soldier's Uniform worn in the Steven Spielberg 2011 Oscar nominated drama War Horse. This uniform was worn but one of the German soldiers living and fighting in the trenches when the film flashes forward to 1918, mere days before the armistice, and we see Joey who has miraculously survived this far, only to get dangerously caught in the middle of No Man's Land.
The costume consists of an M1916 metal helmet with hessian camouflage style cover, great coat with “42” in red on the epaulettes, M1915 jacket with “42” in red on the shoulders but covered with a band of green material, trousers and putties. Also included is a great set of equipment including a leather belt adorned with six ammo pouches, bread bag and strap, leather bayonet frog, metal water bottle, gas mask tin and strap, and finally a cloth grenade bag. It is in a well worn and production distressed condition with mud still present from its use on the wet sets.

This is a unique opportunity to own a costume from the movie, since due to the nature of the costumes used in the film and their ability to be reused in future films we have an incredibly limited inventory, and are unlikely to acquire such an outstanding collection of this standard again.
