A curated trio of vintage Disney production drawings typical of the studio's Golden Age craft. This lot consists of drawings of Clara Cluck from Mickey's Grand Opera (1936), The King from Brave Little Tailor (1938) and Willie from Willie The Operatic Whale (1946).

Walt Disney insisted on keeping the drawings, not the cels, at the heart of the archive because they carry the animator's hand, the thinking, and the instructions that made the filmed image possible. These production drawings show that process clearly, from camera layout lines to ink and paint call-outs. Each is on 16-field Disney animation paper with three-hole peg registration, working notations and light handling from use in production.

Together these drawings chart the road from pencil to screen, and they do it across three very different tones of Disney storytelling: ensemble comedy, operatic fantasy, and fairy-tale adventure.

For collectors, they offer an unusually clear view of the studio's working language and a direct connection to the period that defined American animation. Dimensions (largest): 39 cm x 31 cm (15.25" x 12.25")
