Costume design artwork for Madeleine Elster/Judy Barton (Kim Novak) hand-painted by legendary costume designer Edith Head for the production of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. Head - who won a record eight Academy Awards® throughout her career - designed the elaborate costumes worn by Barton both in and out of her Elster disguise, though the costume depicted in this artwork was ultimately unused in the final cut.

This illustration of Elster/Barton wearing a pink blouse and wide white skirt with matching white earrings, gloves, and stilettos is rendered in watercolors and ink on spiral-bound sketch paper. "Kim Novak - Vertigo - Paramount (1958)" is handwritten in graphite on the reverse. The paper exhibits tears from being removed from a sketchbook as well as minor discoloration from age. Dimensions: 14" x 17" (35.75 cm x 43.25 cm)
