A set of six Joe Viskocil's production binders, pair of record books, and a collection of negatives from various productions. Joe Viskocil is a noted pyro and miniature effects expert. Most of the notebooks included in this lot relate to his pyrotechnic effects on various films and include details of formulas used for explosions, breakdowns and approaches to various shots.
This lot consists of a red leatherette hard cover Mead account book marked "Raiders of Lost Ark Space Hunter" on the cover and features handwritten notes and diagram illustrations throughout for Industrial Light & Magic pyro tests with a start date of Friday June 13, 1980 noting various used elements for the tests such as Nitrate, Zinc, and Titanium; a black leatherette hard cover sketchbook marked "Joseph Viskocil" handwritten on the first page with handwritten notes for films such as James Cameron's The Terminator, the sci-fi thriller Solar Crisis, and Chuck Russell's The Blob, diagram illustrations, and 33 inserted behind-the-scenes photos; 48 negative film strips in protective sleeves with each featuring a handwritten label and in a manila envelope labeled "Viskocil, J"; a black vinyl production binder for David Fincher's Panic Room with a total of 312 pages of production paperwork and five photos; a black vinyl production binder with 28 negative film strips and 106 color printed behind-the-scenes photos; a red vinyl binder marked "If Looks Could Kill 1990" for William Dear's 1991 film with 43 production pages, 37 Polaroid behind-the-scenes images adhered to pages with handwritten notes, and a legal notepad featuring handwritten notes; a brown vinyl binder from Richard Fleischer's Call from Space Showscan with the film marked on the spine and a total of 267 pages with a legal notepad featuring handwritten notes; a black vinyl binder labeled "Volcano" for Mick Jackson's 1997 film featuring 138 pages, one Polaroid picture, and a legal notepad; and a gray vinyl binder marked "Freedom or Death" from Paris Hadjikyriakos' 1972 film with 123 production pages, with some printed in Greek, one negative film strip, and a legal notepad with handwritten notes.
