A “V” face mask, wig and hat worn in James McTeigue's 2005 political thriller. In a dystopian future where Britain has come under the thumb of an oppressive government, underground revolutionary V (Hugo Weaving) rescues young media worker Evey (Natalie Portman) before teaching her why the state must be brought down
This style of mask, hat and wig were worn by the crowds of people who gather in support of ‘V’ on Guy Fawkes night, watching the fireworks light up the London sky and the public begin to revolt against the government. The mask is made from sturdy plastic and has been lined with foam pads at the forehead and under the eyes to allow comfort for the actors. Threaded through the sides of the mask is an elastic band, which was worn behind the head, securing the mask in place. The black fur felt hat has a black wig attached, completing the set and the inside of the hat features the text ‘V391’ handwritten in white.

This set displays signs of wear including light marks to the mask and part of the wig coming loose from the hat. However, the items remain in very good production-used condition.
