A bound script from the production of Cecil B. DeMille's Union Pacific autographed by the director and his key cast. Based on the 1936 novel "Trouble Shooter," Union Pacific followed the building of the Union Pacific Railroad.
Among the most anticipated releases of its day, Union Pacific's four-day premiere was inaugurated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and drew a crowd of more than 250,000. Upon release, the film became one of Paramount's greatest successes, earning an Academy Award® nomination and permanent carte blanche for DeMille with Paramount Pictures.
This bound 207-page script is dated "11/11/38" and features a loose cover page autographed by director DeMille and actors Akim Tamiroff, Robert Preston, Lynne Overman, Barbara Stanwyck, and Joel McCrea. Also included is a cast list featuring several future screen stars, including Anthony Quinn (Cordray) and Lon Chaney, Jr. (Dollarhide). The script exhibits ripped edges and discolouration.
