Tron's (Bruce Boxleitner) program costume from Steven Lisberger's Tron. An independent security program created by Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner), Tron wore his circuitry-patterned jumpsuit as he was forced to play in ENCOM's game grid and continued to wear it as he defeated MCP with user Kevin Flynn's (Jeff Bridges) help.

Tron, a truly groundbreaking film, was one of the first productions to feature entirely computer-animated sequences. However, most of its iconic visual effects were created using matte-photography techniques and backlit animation. The actors were shot in black-and-white on a black background, then printed on large, high-contrast film and hand-colored using rotoscoping. This process proved to be so complicated and costly it was never again used for a feature film.

This lot includes one white foam-padded dense plastic hockey helmet lined with foam marked "Bruce B"; a matching pair of shoulder plate armor with plastic padding; a cream-color lycra-blend jumpsuit marked "Tron" on the interior on an elastic band; and a pair of cream-color leather boots marked "#10." The helmet and shoulder armor are covered in intricate circuit-board decals made from black tape, while the same pattern is applied to the jumpsuit in ink. This lot exhibits discoloration, cracked plastic, notable paint marks on the interior helmet, and scuffing to the boots.
