Sark's (David Warner) screen-matched helmet from Steven Lisberger's sci-fi adventure Tron. The merciless program Sark wore his helmet in the neon-tinged digital world of the ENCOM mainframe, where he oversaw the battles fought on the Game Grid.

This helmet matches the one seen on screen by the hood's stitching in its front neck section aligning with its black lines of tape and marker pen. The design of this helmet also matches with what is seen throughout the majority of the film; however, it interestingly features an extra chin bar, which is only seen in Sark's final scene.

A groundbreaking movie, Tron was the first feature to include entirely computer-animated scenes. However, most of its iconic visual effects were created using matte photography techniques and backlit animation. The actors were shot in black-and-white on a black background, then printed on large, high-contrast film and hand-coloured using rotoscoping. This process proved so complicated and costly that it was never again used for a feature film.

This spiked helmet comprises a cream-coloured leather hood with aluminium armour plating attached via strips of Velcro. The black tape and marker pen detailing on the armour and hood indicate where animators would add the glow effect.

Some of the black tape exhibits peeling, while other parts are missing. Dimensions: 31 cm x 22 cm x 50 cm (12.25" x 8.75" x 19.75")
