Eloise's (Charlotte Long) tournament costume from the classic BBC sci-fi drama based on John Christopher’s book series, The Tripods (1984 – 1985).

The Earth has been conquered by an alien race known as the Masters, who patrol the land in giant Tripods. When humans reach the age of 16 they are ‘capped’, placing their minds under the control of the aliens. A group of young friends avoid being capped themselves, and go in search of a group of ‘free men’.

Eloise wore her costume at the tournament in season 1, which ended with her being taken away by the Tripods. The costume consists of a dress, shawl, headdress and belt. The dress has clear plastic poppers up the back and the headdress is made of metal. The headdress was given to Eloise before she was taken.

There is some wear from production use and age. The fabric on the dress has become stretched in places, forming holes. The belt is not the one worn at the tournament but has been added to complete the costume. Overall it remains in a good condition.
