Beanpole's (Ceri Seel) Woollen Overcoat, Jumper, Hat and Knife

Stock #116400

"About a hundred years ago - not long - when the Tripods first appeared, they destroyed whole cities. Millions of people were killed or starved. And those that were left, the Tripods capped."

Beanpole's (Ceri Seel) woollen overcoat, jumper, hat and knife from the classic BBC sci-fi drama based on John Christopher’s book series, The Tripods (1984 – 1985).

The Earth has been conquered by an alien race known as the Masters, who patrol the land in giant Tripods. When humans reach the age of 16 they are ‘capped’, placing their minds under the control of the aliens. A group of young friends avoid being capped themselves, and go in search of a group of ‘free men’.

Beanpole wore his costume in season 2, as he and his comrades crossed the countryside on their way to the tournament that would allow them access to the Golden City. The costume consists of a large woollen overcoat, jumper, hat and knife. It has some wear from production use and age, and the knife has accrued some rust, but overall the costume is in an excellent condition.
