Mercury Activated Bomb

Stock #17694

This item is a bomb used in the 2000 Steven Soderbergh ensemble epic Traffic. The bomb can be clearly seen in the film as hitman Frankie Flowers (Clifton Collins Jr.) places it on the bottom of D.E.A. car, killing agent Montel Gordon's (Don Cheadle) when it detonates. The bomb is composed of two silver metal tubes, which are glued together, metal framework, connecting the tubes to a black plastic control box, and a large magnet. On top of the framework, is a small glass cylindrical tube which contains real mercury and has two small black strings that run to the control box. The box also features a small red L.E.D. light on one side as well as an on/off switch on the other. This item measures 5" x 2.5" (13cm x 6cm) and is in very good condition. We believe this piece contains real Mercury and must be handled with extreme care.
