A set of production stills from John Carpenter's sci-fi horror film The Thing. Photographs were distributed by the production for use in newspapers and other periodicals during the promotion of the film.

The set includes 35 black and white photographs printed on glossy paper with a fine-print notice about the use of the images and Universal City Studios, Inc. copyright on the bottom and handwritten numbers on the back. A glossy print of an advertisement for The Thing from Another World (1951) and a translucent negative of the same advertisement are also included. Some of the prints exhibit staining and one print is stuck to the back of another. Dimensions (each): 25.5 cm x 20.5 cm (10" x 8")
