Palmer's (David Clennon) bloodied vest from John Carpenter's The Thing. Palmer wore his vest off and on throughout the film. The Thing was not a critical success upon its release, but has been reevaluated over time and is now widely considered a staple title in the horror genre and one of Carpenter's best films.

This blue denim vest features three embroidered patches on the front for "U.S. Army," "Z," and "The Rocket," as well as a print decal on the back that reads "Barbarians California" with crossed axes. Production intentionally distressed this vest to have frayed arm holes and to appear bloodied and grime-covered. Production also cut the fabric along the seam beneath the "Rocket" patch and on the back through the decal. This lot exhibits snagged threads along the hem and interior, as well as some bleed-through discolouration.
