Ken Welch's bound personal production bible with a screenplay from Steve Binder and David Acomba's The Star Wars Holiday Special. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) travelled to Chewbacca's home planet Kashyyyk, but were stopped on their journey by an Imperial blockade. The infamous holiday special, starring the main cast of the hugely successful first Star Wars film released in 1977, was officially broadcast only once: by CBS on November 17, 1978. It has since lived on entirely through bootleg copies traded amongst fans and, more recently, versions uploaded on the internet. Memorabilia from the Holiday Special is now considered rare in the collecting world.

Used by producer Ken Welch, this lot consists of a 178-page fourth draft script dated September 13, 1978 with various coloured revision pages; a production binder with 26 pages of production paperwork including call sheets and shooting schedules; a map of The Burbank Studios; and three promotional newspaper articles. This lot comes set in a black vinyl three-ring binder with "the Star Wars holiday special Ken Welch" [sic] embossed in silver-colour lettering. These custom binders were issued exclusively to the cast and crew of the Holiday Spacial. This lot exhibits discolouration on the pages. Dimensions: 30 cm x 29.25 cm x 7.75 cm (11.75" x 11.5" x 3")
