A five-page outline with handwritten notes and hand-drawn pencil sketches marked for Ralph McQuarrie from the production of Steve Binder's The Star Wars Holiday Special. The infamous holiday special, starring the main cast of the hugely successful first Star Wars film that released the previous year, was officially broadcast only once: by CBS on November 17, 1978. It has since lived on entirely through bootleg copies traded amongst fans and, more recently, versions uploaded on the internet. Celebrated Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie worked on the Holiday Special, his contributions including artwork depicting the exterior and interior of the Wookie treehouse on Kashyyyk. This lot consists of five hole-punched pages of typed plot elements from the special, with the first page dated "5-31-78" and hand-marked for "Ralph McQuarry [sic]". The reverse sides of the fourth and fifth pages feature hand-written notes including "first Wookie stuff" and "little Wookies bedroom," and simplistic hand-drawn pencil sketches. The pages exhibit marks from where staples were previously present, some staining, and minor creasing. Dimensions: (each) 8.5" x 11" (21.75 cm x 28 cm)
