Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding's (Morgan Freeman) production-made prison shirt from Frank Darabont's The Shawshank Redemption. Red, the go-to man for contraband, wore his inmate shirt throughout the film as he befriended Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) where they created a grand prison library in memory of their friend, inmate Brooks Hatlen (James Whitmore) before they departed from Shawshank Prison to Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

The Shawshank Redemption earned seven Academy Award® nominations, including Best Picture, and was selected by the United States Library of Congress in 2015 to be preserved in the National Film Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

This lot consists of a blue and white striped long-sleeve, button-up cotton FiveBrother shirt (Size XL) marked "Western Costume Co. 16" with black buttons and a patch above the left breast pocket stencilled with the number "30265." This shirt exhibits fading color to the inmate number.
