Andy Dufresne's (Tim Robbins) State of Maine letter and check from Frank Darabont's The Shawshank Redemption. Maine awarded Dufresne funds to refurbish Shawshank State Penitentiary's library.

This lot originates from a crew member. It consists of a black-and-white typewritten letter dated "July 21, 1955" from "State Controller J.H. McAlahney" to "Mr. Dufresne," and a $200 check with the same date made out from the "First Bank of Maine" to "Shawshank State Prison." The letter exhibits fold lines, and the check's edges exhibit tearing. Dimensions (letter): 8.5" x 11" (21.75 cm x 28 cm); (check): 3.5" x 7.5" (9 cm x 19.25 cm)
