Framed artwork hand-painted by renowned posterist John Alvin for Joe Johnston's The Rocketeer. In the film, Pilot Cliff Secord (Bill Campbell) took flight as the heroic Rocketeer after he discovered an experimental jetpack designed by Howard Hughes (Terry O'Quinn).

Alvin created promotional and key art for some of the world's most beloved films, including highly recognizable posters for Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, Tim Burton's Batman Returns, and Ron Howard's Willow among 200 others. His original artwork is highly sought after by collectors around the world. This artwork depicting the Rocketeer's silhouette was likely created as concept artwork for a one-sheet for the film. It is also believed to be unpublished.

This distinctive painting is rendered in layered mixed media with hand-airbrushed highlights along the Rocketeer's body and the clouds of smoke. The artwork features Alvin's signature variation of an "A" along the bottom of the smoke, rendered to blend in with the scenery. It comes mounted in a dark blue and brown textured wooden frame with dark blue matting. It exhibits scratches to the glass and a tear in the backing.
