The Rocketeer's stunt helmet from Joe Johnston's The Rocketeer. Pilot Cliff Secord donned his signature helmet when he took flight as the heroic Rocketeer using an experimental jetpack designed by Howard Hughes (Terry O'Quinn).

The design for the Rocketeer's classic gold helmet - a symbol of Secord's all-American love of flight - originated from Dave Stevens' comic series of the same name. Stevens requested a completely new version of the helmet to be made for the film, which Johnston ultimately approved a much gentler redesign provided by Stevens after rejecting multiple prototypes. The helmet was later used throughout the promotional campaign and has since become among the most recognisable costume pieces from any live-action Disney film.

Constructed by Design Setters, this crested vacuum-formed helmet was purposefully made to be slightly oversized to fit over the foam-padded internal crash helmet affixed within it that would protect the stunt pilot during flight sequences. It is inset with tinted urethane eye lenses and painted entirely gold-colour. The internal helmet features a nylon and leather chin strap and information stickers, including one labeling it as size "M (6 7/8 - 7 1/8)."

The external helmet is intentionally distressed to appear aged and tarnished from flight. It exhibits cracking in its crest and upper right vent, while the fabric around the foam padding is torn from production wear. Dimensions: 49.5 cm x 23.25 cm x 26.75 cm (19.5" x 9.5" x 10.5")
