An autographed two-cel setup from one of The Little Mermaid's most memorable land-based sequences featuring Ariel (voiced by Jodi Benson) in her human form during her short-lived transformation following her fateful deal with Ursula.
In this beautifully composed moment, Ariel, newly voiceless but full of excitement and wonder, attempts to mime her story to a confused Prince Eric. His reply, "You need help!" provides one of the scene's most endearing beats. This cel captures that exact interaction, with both characters rendered large on screen, their expressions and postures filled with chemistry and connection.
Only a few scenes in the film feature Ariel with legs, making this one of the rarer cel setups available. Both characters are crisply painted and set against a lithographic printed background, with the official Walt Disney seal present at the upper right. The cel is inscribed and signed in permanent ink by Ariel's voice actress, Jodi Benson, with the note "With love from 'The Little Mermaid'! God bless Jodi Benson, Ariel". The signature was obtained during a special London gallery appearance in November 1997, commemorating the film's re-release.
It comes presented in a card mount and the lot is accompanied by a The Walt Disney Company certificate of authenticity. Dimensions (mounted): 38 cm x 53.25 cm (15" x 21")
