Key-Cast Autographed Australian Daybill (13" x 30"); Hand Lithograph Signed by Ferdy Mayne
Very Fine Folded; Artwork by Frank Frazetta
MGM, 1967
Beautiful Sharon Tate has her nightly bath interrupted by the unexpected arrival of Count von Krolock, played by Ferdy Mayne, in director Roman Polanski's comedic spoof of the classic Hammer Horror films from the 1950s and 1960s. This particular example features artwork by Frank Frazetta and is signed by Ferdy Mayne. It is unrestored and folded, displaying staple holes along the borders (one set of which is reinforced with clear tape on the back), corner creases, a small area of separation at the left end of the upper horizontal fold, and two unobtrusive scratches in the right corner of the blue field. The beautiful hand lithograph colors remain fresh and vibrant, enhancing the overall appeal of the artwork.
The Fearless Vampire Killers, or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck (commonly shortened to The Fearless Vampire Killers and originally released in the UK as Dance of the Vampires) is a 1967 comedy-horror film directed by Roman Polanski and stars Polanski alongside his future wife Sharon Tate, as well as Jack MacGowran, Alfie Bass, and Ferdy Mayne. In the film, a feeble vampire hunter (Jack MacGowran) and his clumsy assistant (Roman Polanski) journey to a remote mountain village, where they discover clear signs of vampirism. The assistant becomes infatuated with Sarah (Sharon Tate), the tavern keeper's daughter, who is soon abducted. Determined to rescue the young woman, they face off against the undead Count in his castle. The story was later adapted into the musical Dance of the Vampires, first staged in German as Tanz der Vampire.
