A prop album cover used in the biopic The Doors. The film tells the story of the band as they begin their meteoric rise and quickly succumb to the temptations of the rock and roll scene, with a focus on the rock icon Jim Morrison (Val Kilmer) and his obsession with his own self-image, culminating in his death in 1971.
The album ‘The Doors’ can be seen as Morrison snorts cocaine off it when he is with Patricia (Kathleen Quinlan) and later when the group are ushered through the crowds at the airport. Made of card, the album cover features an image of Val Kilmer on the front in the character of Jim Morrison with the rest of the band members in the background. The rear features another shot of the band along with the album’s track list and credits.

In excellent production-used condition, the album cover has been custom framed, with a laser cut mount board featuring the film’s title and movie stills showing the album cover in the film. The display features an opening front panel allowing for both sides of the album cover to be viewed. Measures 48.5cm x 71cm (19” x 28”).
