John Steed's (Patrick Macnee) black bowler hat from the British spy-fi television series The Avengers. The bowler hat was part of Steed's trademark costume and served as one of his favourite weapons. He wore different coloured versions throughout the show and donned a black hat during multiple episodes. This hat was gifted by Macnee, at an end-of-shoot party, to a crew member who worked on the seasons which featured Emma Peel (Diana Rigg).

Created by Dunn &Co., the bowler hat is made of black felt and features a black ribbon. The interior displays a leather sweatband and a Dunn & Co. label. The ribbon has become discoloured over time, and there are signs of damage on the sweatband. The lot includes a letter of authenticity from the crew member to whom it was gifted.
