John Steed's (Patrick Macnee) grey bowler hat from the British spy-fi television series The Avengers. The bowler hat was part of Steed's trademark costume and served as one of his favourite weapons. He wore different coloured versions throughout the show, and donned a grey hat during multiple episodes of the fifth series. This hat was originally gifted by Macnee to his chauffeur.

Created by Herbert Johnson hatters, the bowler hat is made of pale grey felt and features a black ribbon. The interior displays a silk lining, with a leather sweatband imprinted with the Herbert Johnson name, and the hat is marked as a size 7 1/8 (size 56 European). The hat has become discoloured over time and exhibits light wear around the rim and a small stain on the lining. The lot includes a letter of authenticity from a family member of the original owner.
