A Sawyer House killing room skull from Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The cannibalistic Sawyers kept remains of their animal and human victims in "The Killing Room" of their family home in Newt, Texas. This wall of skulls was among the first signs of the family's depravity seen after Kirk (William Vail) and Pam (Teri McMinn) discovered the home.
This real-world rabbit skull originated from Hooper's collection. Following production, it was purchased by actor Edwin Neal, who portrayed the Hitchhiker, and subsequently sold to Roy Rose, owner of The Gas Station, the same gas station seen in the film. The skull has been cleaned and tied with yarn through its orbital sockets and around the cranium for suspending from a wall. It exhibits minor discolouration, grime, and fractures from age. The skull remains fragile and should be handled with care. Dimensions: 10.25 cm x 6.5 cm x 5 cm (4" x 2.5" x 2")
