John Connor’s (Christian Bale) M4 rifle from McG’s 2009 sci-fi action adventure movie Terminator 4: Salvation.
In this fourth entry of the Terminator franchise, Connor finds himself at odds with his fellow Resistance leaders while striving to protect his future father, Kyle Reese (Anton Yelchin) from the relentless attacks brought on by Skynet.
John Connor used an M4 assault rifle with an under-barrel shotgun in numerous action sequences, including the film’s opening minutes and a scene in the last third where he interrogates Blair Williams (Moon Bloodgood). Stunt rifles are used in film production as stand ins for scenes where live fire models aren’t required for a shot. This item was modelled on the Colt M4/M16A2E – the Colt emblem and reference number can be seen on the left side of the stock above the magazine. The rifle features realistic detail including one magazine, movable trigger, rate of fire switches, sights and safety switches. A black elastic tie has been knotted around the barrel behind the sight.
The rifle has been painted black and distressed for production to reflect use in battle – it features marks, notches and scratches from use. The magnetised under-barrel shotgun component has been torn loose from the main rifle, indicating heavy use during production, but is included. The butt is loose and turns on its support rod. Despite this wear, the items are in fair overall condition.
Materials: Rubber, Plastic, Ferrous Metals.
