A pair of steel mill model miniature components from James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) chased John (Edward Furlong) and Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) into a steel mill, crashing the Liquid Nitrogen tanker truck he was driving when the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) jumped onto the truck and started shooting the T-1000.

After the full-size tanker truck, rigged to flip and slide, unexpectedly flipped and rolled instead, visual effects supervisor Gene Warren Jr. and Fantasy II Film Effects worked with model maker Pete Gerard to recreate the steel mill set as a model miniature and recreate the sliding effect using a model miniature of the tanker truck. Terminator 2 was highly influential in setting a new standard for both sequels and action films. It remains Schwarzenegger's highest-grossing film and was nominated for six Academy Awards®, of which it won four, including Best Makeup and Best Visual Effects.

This lot consists of two metal model miniatures painted to look old and rusted with gray build-up applied to simulate dried steel spillover. The circular vat component features a slopped pouring section inside and the square frame-like vat opening component features an orange resin insert simulating molten steel. The orange insert underwent sympathetic restoration to reattach and stabilize it in the square vat opening. In addition to the intentional production distressing, this lot shows evidence of wear consistent with on-set use, handling, and age.
