This pair of one sheets is from director Cecil B. DeMille's most famous film that co-stars Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner. The "Style A" poster features the film's iconic "Parting of the Red Sea" scene and is in excellent folded condition. The "Style B" poster shows beautiful portrait artwork of the two main figures based on photographs by Yousuf Karsh. This example is folded and has pinholes, a horizontal fold along the lower border, sporadic edge tears (some showing signs of wear), a tear in the lower left corner of the red field, a thin area of paper loss along the upper border edge, and general fold wear with crossfold separation. The grade given is an overall grade.

Cecil B. DeMille cast Charlton Heston as Moses because he resembled Michelangelo's famous statue of Moses in Rome. Years later, Heston would portray Michelangelo himself in "The Agony and the Ecstasy" (1965). During production, DeMille suffered a heart attack after climbing 130 feet to inspect a faulty camera atop one of the massive gates used in the exodus sequence. Ignoring his doctor's advice, he rested only two days before returning to finish the film. The parting of the Red Sea was created using large "dump tanks" that were flooded and filmed in reverse. Water was continuously dumped into catch basins to form the frothing walls, with gelatin added for sea-like consistency. The tanks have been removed, but the catch basin remains on the Paramount lot and can still be flooded for water scenes.
