Michelangelo's screen-matched stunt distressed head skin from Stuart Gillard's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III. Burn marks, tattering, and spot patterns in the paint on this lot screen-match to when Michelangelo (David Fraser) was covered in smoke and soot after rescuing Yoshi (Travis A. Moon) from a burning building.
For the third film in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle trilogy, All Effects Company took over the creation of the animatronic turtle suits, giving them a unique appearance that differed slightly from those created by Jim Henson's Creature Shop for the first two films. This foam latex head skin created by All Effects originated as Lot 860 in a Profiles in History auction held June 1, 1996.
It is painted in the turtles' signature green with such details as dark green spots, a zipper at the back of the head, and an orange fabric mask, all of which has been mounted via a small metal mount over a black foam head to help preserve the skin's shape. Nonetheless, the fragile foam latex exhibits some drying and cracking from age and being crushed horizontally; the orange mask exhibits tearing; and the metal mount is bent.
