A light-up T-800 endoskeleton skull from the Universal Studios theme park attraction T2-3D: Battle Across Time. Conceived as a mini-sequel to James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the attraction featured a pre-show introducing the Cyberdyne Systems corporation, followed by a main performance where live actors interacted with a 3D film presentation. Cameron was directly involved in the project and personally directed portions of the filmed sequences.
Created by Stan Winston Studio (SWS), who also built the endoskeletons for The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, this piece consists of a T-800 skull cast in dense urethane with a vacuum-metallized finish. SWS used the same urethane and metallization process on many of the parts produced for Terminator 2, yielding a softer reflective sheen than true chrome plating. The sculpt and detailing of this skull are closely aligned with the T2 design, differing only in minor surface details such as the top port configuration. This version predates the numerous T-800 skulls produced for later sequels, and components from pre-Terminator 3 installments are particularly rare.
The skull is constructed from multiple cast components and includes cheek pistons, a neck assembly, connecting rods, and red light-up eyes powered by an internal wiring system with an external adapter. A stunt-grade nylon "cable" is attached to the back of the head. The piece remains wired for illumination and is presented on a custom display stand.
The finish exhibits light wear consistent with age and handling but remains highly presentable. As an authentic Stan Winston Studio creation tied to James Cameron's direct involvement with T2-3D: Battle Across Time, this skull represents both a rare artifact of practical effects craftsmanship and a continuation of one of cinema's most iconic designs. Dimensions: 38.25 cm x 25.5 cm x 15.25 cm (15" x 10" x 6")
