An original Swamp Thing mask worn and signed by Dick Durock in the early 90’s TV series of the same name. This instantly recognisable piece from the series was worn in the season three episode “Heart of the Mantis” as per the inscription inside, alongside the autograph from the Swamp Thing himself.

Worn prosthetics are notoriously rare and most of the time they are ripped of after filming and thrown away, or kept aside for spares later on. According to the original owner, great care was taken to keep the masks and detail their use, then once they had wrapped on the final season, this and a number of others were gifted to crew members.

The foam latex mask worn by the man-turned-muck creature is various shade of rich mossy greens with brown roots/veins crawling across the head and encircling the eyes. Being made from foam latex the piece has inevitably suffered some damage to the integrity and cracks were appearing when it came to us, and the decision was ultimately made to sympathetically and incredibly carefully restore it as close as possible to its original and much more stable state. At the same time it was given it’s own display stand to keep it supported without damaging it which incorporates the Swamp Thing movie logo which is illuminated with ultrabright LEDs powered via a small push switch at the back.
