A Fortress of Solitude crystal from Richard Lester's superhero sequel Superman II. Clear crystals appeared in several sequences set in Superman's (Christopher Reeve) Arctic citadel, including Lex Luthor's (Gene Hackman) infiltration, Superman's transformation into a mortal, and his final confrontation with General Zod (Terence Stamp) and his Kryptonian cohorts. The Fortress of Solitude and several crystals also appeared in the first film of the franchise, Superman, with which this sequel was filmed back-to-back. Made of resin and displaying an angular, shard-like shape, the crystal exhibits light surface scratches. Dimensions: 29 cm x 3.5 cm x 2 cm (111/2" x 1 1/2" x 3/4")
