A clapperboard from the production of Richard Donner's superhero film Superman. At the time of its release, Superman was the most expensive film ever made, and it became a critical and financial success. It was nominated for three Academy Awards and awarded a Special Achievement Academy Award for its revolutionary visual effects.

This wooden clapperboard features the names of director Donner and additional photographer Jack Atcheler handwritten in marker pen on tape adhered to the board. "S Cam", "27th Oct '77" and "Ext-Night" are also handwritten on tape, and the slate and take numbers are handwritten in chalk on the wood. Two pages of handwritten production notes are attached to the reverse of the slate.

The tape adhered to the front was repeatedly added during production, whenever information - most notably the date - needed to be updated, and as such, the tape protrudes from the board. The clapperboard has some minor chips in the wood. Dimensions: 36 cm x 39 cm x 3 cm (14.25" x 15.25" x 1.25")
