Miriam Hopkins stars as a wealthy yet neurotic Southern belle who becomes entangled with a ruthless gang of bootleggers. The gang's leader, driven by his desire for her, is determined to let nothing stand in his way of claiming her. This offering includes two lobby cards featuring the star, Miriam Hopkins, along with Jack La Rue and William Gargan. The card depicting Hopkins on the chaise is in excellent condition. In contrast, the card featuring just La Rue and Hopkins has a smudge in the upper left corner, several pinholes in the corners, and two pinholes within the image.

"The Story of Temple Drake" was initially rejected by New York censors. To make it acceptable for screening, all scenes featuring sex or violence had to be significantly toned down. Highly controversial due to its subject matter, the film was banned in Pennsylvania and Ohio. After the Production Code was implemented in mid-1934, Joseph Breen, head of the Production Code Administration, prohibited its re-release. The film remained unseen until its reappearance in the mid-1950s.
