Tanker Bug scanning pieces from Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction action film Starship Troopers. Models such as this were used to scan three-dimensional images into a computer. Phil Tippett is credited as Creature Visual Effects Supervisor for the film.Tippett was nominated for Best Visual Effects for his work on this film at the 70th Academy Awards^®.

This lot contains a total of four pieces. Made from resin, three pieces are rear sections of the Tanker Bug and one is a middle section. Portions of one rear section and a majority of the middle section of the Tanker Bug feature hand-drawn points that were used to scan the models into a computer. One of the other rear sections is painted black while the last is partially painted black.

Showing some signs of wear from use and age, including chips and scratched throughout, these pieces are in overall good production used condition. Dimensions (largest): 15” x 8” x 7” (38 cm x 20.25 cm x 17.75 cm); dimensions (smallest): 8” x 5” x 4” (20 cm x 12.75 cm x 10.25 cm)
