A hero Morita rifle shroud used in the 1997 sci-fi action film Starship Troopers. Recruited into the Earth Federation’s Mobile Infantry, high schooler Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) goes through the trials of service within the Federation military as war with the alien Arachnids takes him from Earth to the far corners of the galaxy.
This style of futuristic combat rifle was used by Troopers within the Mobile Infantry during their battles with the Arachnids. Starship Troopers made history by using the most blank rounds in any movie in Hollywood history, with rifles such as this a star of the show. Made of fibreglass, this rifle shroud was designed to contain a Ruger AC-556 or Mini-14 assault rifle and Ithica 37 shotgun. Intricate detailing is present throughout on the shroud, with the piece finished in a dark shade of olive green. A static trigger used for versions of the weapon that were fitted with a dummy shotgun is still present forward of the pistol grip.

The rifle shroud features some wear from use on the production, including minor chips and bubbles in the fibreglass and dust still present from its use in the American desert. However, the piece remains in very good condition.
