Bug concept art prints from Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction action film Starship Troopers. In order to create the futuristic universe of Starship Troopers, the design process for the film took years and included many concepts such as these. Phil Tippett is credited as Creature Visual Effects Supervisor for the film.Tippett was nominated for Best Visual Effects for his work on this film at the 70th Academy Awards^®.

This lot features three small prints and twenty-three large prints drawn by artist Steve Burg and show multiple designs for many of the Bugs seen in the film. Each small print shows a design for a different Bug including a Hopper Bug, a Plasma Bug, and an unknown Bug. The Plasma Bug design features handwritten notes and measurements which give the scale of the alien. The large prints feature designs for the Hopper Bugs, Plasma Bugs, Brain Bugs, and an unknown Bug. Select prints have been labeled in their lower right corner with tape which identify which Bug species is being shown.

Showing minimal signs of wear from age and use these prints are in overall excellent condition. Dimensions (smallest): 11” x 8 ½” (28 cm x 21.5 cm); dimensions (largest): 17 ¾” x 11” (45 cm x 28 cm)
