A costume from the Canadian-American sci-fi TV series Stargate SG-1. The costume was worn by the Goa'uld system lord Apophis (Peter Williams), a leading villain throughout the majority of the hit series. The armour is a variation on the standard Jaffa armour, which was worn throughout the show’s run, supplemented by replica components to complete the look of the costume.
A skull cap, marked “Apophis” along with two other performers internally, is worn on the head. The tunic and trousers worn underneath the armour are made from woven gold fabric producing the appearance of high-tech chain mail. Worn over the tunic is a golden vest made of durable nylon fabric with faux-gold piping along the sides. The skirt was crafted with faux-gold painted leather but features a waistline tailored out of nylon with a section of decorative metal chain mail, also finished in gold paint, on the front. Chest armour and back armour are marked “Apophis” on labels within.

To complete the look of the costume, a number of replica and modified original components have been added. The greaves are original pieces used on the production, made of flexible rubber and lined with leather at the edges, which have been repainted gold to match the look of the costume. A replica rubber collar, replica belt and a pair of replica rubber bracers, both finished in gold, are also present to complete the look of the outfit.

The costume displays moderate signs of use, with wear to the paint finish of the costume as well as tears in one of the shins and in one of the bracers. One of the greaves is also showing signs of rubber decay with some tackiness on the rear, possibly the result of a past repair. However, in spite of this wear, the set remains in overall good condition.
