A Ra (Jaye Davidson) nemes and Horus Guard armor components from Roland Emmerich's Stargate. In the film, Horus guards wore their distinctive armor when they protected the Goa'uld Lord Ra from human slaves around the great pyramid on the planet Abydos.
This set of costume components originated from production company Carolco Pictures, though it remains unknown if they were created for production or for use in the film's promotional campaign. It consists of a foam Ra nemes lined with fiberglass for structure, painted to appear metallic, and engraved with otherworldly Goa'uld runes; a foam Horus Guard nemes lined with black felt, inset with acrylic eyes, and engraved with similar runes; a matching falcon-shaped foam mask with lacquered green eyes; a foam cinching strap; and three loose foam collar and headpiece armor components.
Several pieces are engraved with Carolco and production company Le Studio Canal's trademarks along with "Stargate" and the date "1994," suggesting they may be licensed replicas created after production as the film completed shooting in 1993. The set exhibits crumbling, fissures, and loose bits from age. They remain fragile and should be handled with caution.
