Waggoner started creating the very popular Star Wars "Reflection" series of paintings for Lucasfilm licensee ACME Archives more than a dozen years ago. Through fan conventions he became familiar with Rancho Obi-Wan and has donated his work to the museum and for its fund-raising auctions. "I liked the theme of family in Rogue One, and worked with my Pops, an incredible wood craftsman and engineering genius," Waggoner says. "We re-watched the movie together and he suggested he could build the Citadel Tower and make the "planet killer" turn. I painted the father and daughter portraits and added glitter, which is the "star dust.'"
